Prof. Antonios Tzanakopoulos

Antonios Tzanakopoulos is Associate Professor of Public International Law at the University of Oxford, Fellow of St Anne’s College, as well as the Secretary-General of the International Law Association and the Joint Secretary of its British Branch. Antonios studied law in Athens, New York, and Oxford, and has taught international law at Oxford, Glasgow, and UCL, as well as at other universities, including the Universities of London (KCL) and Paris (X –Nanterre) as a visitor. He has acted as counsel, advisor, or expert in litigation before international and domestic courts and arbitral tribunals, and he advises states and international organisations, as well as private entities, on matters of international law. Professor Tzanakopoulos has published widely in a number of areas of international law including the law of international responsibility, dispute settlement, the law of treaties, the law of immunity, the law of the sea and international investment law.
