Dr. Deming Zhao is a senior partner at Global Law Office, Shanghai, and An Chen International Law Chair Professor, Xiamen University. With Ph.D from Xiamen University and LLM from University College London, he is among the first generation of the Chinese lawyers to serve as in-house counsels of multinational companies in China. In the practice of customs & trade compliance, he has advised, represented or defended many renowned multinational companies in connection with transfer pricing and valuation consultation, valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, customs survey and inspection, and import & export license. He also advises and trains many clients on export control or economic sanctions, and frequently makes speeches on China export control and customs supervision practices at symposiums or seminars in Europe. In 2019, Dr. Zhao was invited by the International Anti-Corruption Academy to lecture on China and US export control practices in Seoul. In 2020-2021, Dr. Zhao working with his team supervise the export control compliance projects relevant to countries in Asia, Europe, America and South America.
