Frederick M. Abbott is Edward Ball Eminent Scholar Professor of Law at Florida State UniversityCollege of Law, USA. He has served as expert consultant and legal representative for internationaland regional organizations, governments and nongovernmental organizations, mainly in the fieldsof intellectual property, technology transfer, public health, competition, trade and sustainabledevelopment. He is Chair of the WHO Technology Advisory Group (TAG) on Local Productionand Technology Transfer. He regularly serves as panelist for the WIPO Arbitration and MediationCenter. He is on the panel of arbitrators of the South China International Arbitration Center(Hong Kong) (SCIAHK) and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). ProfessorAbbott has authored many books and articles. He is Co-Chair of the Committee on Global HealthLaw of the International Law Association. He has served as counsel to governments in WTOdispute settlement proceedings, and in national court proceedings. He is on the editorial board ofthe WIPO-WTO Colloquium Series.
